Note that these are recent free versions of programs found by Chairman David Bryant as at 18 October 2008.
They may not necessarily the most recent version of the program.
None of them are free trials that expire after a limited time (typically 30 days)
although some do have fewer, or more limited features than the commercial versions.  
Includes a brief explanation about each program and why it might be of interest to genealogists.
