Making Family web pages via a GEDCOM file

Assuming you have:

Process:

Recommended Macintosh software

Windows software*

1. Decide which families or family lines to include and "mark" them in your database

Reunion

e.g. Legacy, Family Tree Maker

2. "Export" a GEDCOM file of the selected records. You should perhaps suppress event dates of living persons.

3. Review the GEDCOM file with a GEDCOM Viewer to ensure it's what you want

e.g. GENViewer

4. Generate Web pages from the GEDCOM file

GEDitCOM Export

e.g. GENViewer, Gedpage

5. Review the generated pages in your Web Browser

e.g. FireFox

6. Upload to your web server

7. Invite people to view the pages, include the address in your email signature

Note2: Some genealogy programs (including Reunion) can create "web-ready" pages directly. I have not tried this yet.
