Programme for 2008

9th February 2008	1) Indexes at Archives. A powerpoint presentation by Suzanne Hamilton. 2) Gedcom and backing-up all your hard work on the genealogy programmes. A powerpoint presentation by Boyd Miller. 3) Planning for the Panmure visit.
8th March 2008	Trip to NZSG Resource Centre at Panmure. Important---- There will not be any meeting at the Browns Bay room. . Transport will be by car-pooling from your local area where possible rather meeting at Browns Bay. The sessions start from 1pm until 4pm. Cost  NZSG member $2.00. Non members pay $15.
12th April  2008	1) Excel. A basic introduction to MS Excel by John Jefferson. 2) TBA
10th May 2008	TBA
14th June 2008	Irish Research. Malcolm MacDonald from the Irish Interest Group will talk about the ins and outs of Irish research.
12th July 2008	1) Portable broadband. A short talk about some of the options by Boyd Miller. 2) Paperspast. A NZ national libraries websites. Ken Mutch is going to show us this wonderful resource. 3) NZSG Index version 5. Boyd Miller will show the latest CD from NZSG. It has another 2 million entries over v4.
9th August  2008	1) A 10 minute look at those specs on display when buying a new computer. 2) Downloading a programme from the internet. Our group laptop needs to download the latest version of AVG to be safe so here is a chance to ask a few questions about AVG and/or programme downloading. I am sure we will be able to help you. 3) Share your favourite English and Welsh website. Bring along the details about your favourite or even unusual website and tell us about how you found it and what we are likely to find.  We don't need a major presentation. Only a few minutes worth. We'll do Scotland and Eire another time.

11th October 2008	1. AGM for the first few minutes. Join the committee and make a difference.                                  .    Remember..........no committee = no group.        The choice is yours! 2. TBA
8th November  2008	1)Show and tell. Your chance tell the rest of the about your successes, and other interesting genealogical  finds. 2) Remember to bring a plate so we can finish the year on a real social note.
